We have recruiters that go to every high school, tv advertisements, and every man is required to enroll for the draft, but instead of enrolling there they seem to be auto-enrolled which makes more sense. Then the legislature makes a vote on whether to institute the draft, same as here.
Other than the part about it forcing the executive branch to act and holding all of them responsible for not upholding the laws written by the legislature. But congress wouldn’t likely do it.
It would be better if the U.S. just waits a minute sees shat happens, and then congress votes to declare war and the executive branch would have to act based upon their vote or would be directly disobeying the legislature again. Congress declares war. Not the executive branch. And in the end we are the only country to enact article 5 in history, when 9/11 happened and NATO countries answered the call even though many probably did not wish too.
The thing here would be that unless Russis initiates the attack, it wouldn’t trigger article 5 and congress could just ignore it.

Copy party works pretty well, I’ve liked it. That said I don’t have mine open to everyone, it requires a password for view/read/edit rights or whatnot, which you can easily divy out using a config file. (Not the most secure, but that’s because I haven’t put in any protections myself)

I use a split tunnel for the VPN. You can route specific applications/services to go through the VPN, and leave the Plex access how it is currently if you want. I have my jellyfin server set up that one of my browsers and qbitorrent all go through the VPN tunnel that’s always connected, then RustDesk, my file server, jellyfin and what not runs locally. So I don’t have to lose access to Jellyfin when acquiring any content.
Note: you can actually kick off a download through the VPN, and tell it to download sequentially, then just refresh the movies list in your player(jellyfin for me) and start watching the movie while it downloads. Thought that was a nice surprise.

So the U.S. has stockpiled military equipment in Israel for decadees that is well defended do to shared technologies. If the cost of oil in Iran/Saudia Arabia go lower that profitability drops, and some of the largest contributors to the Republican party (oil companies in the west, would see huge drops in income).
Other countries of interest there. Argentina, Columbia, and Venezuela. Should also mention Brazil, but they have grown closer ties with China who they export most of their excess Oil production too. Harder to impact at the moment, so they likely want to keep them out of direct conflicts.
Remember Trump sat down in May 2024 asking oil executives directly for $1 billion dollars in campaign contributions to help him get elected with the promise to squash any programs he could pertaining to EV growth.
