Right. It’s the same as the chancellor slipping into his Wellington boots when there is a flood event. He looks around, listens to people telling him that there is water everywhere, then he says the government will do what they can to help.
He does not (and cannot) do anything to help anyone at that moment, at least more than is already happening, but pretending exactly that is part of the job. If the mayor does not want that part of the job, he’s not fit for it and should be doing something else. Like, coaching tennis or something.

Skill issue.

My car is 26 years old, with OE hubs and wheel bolts. My family traditionally had VWs; none ever had any issues with broken threads or bolts. I’m pretty sure that the approach works and has worked for many decades.

Sounds like one of those anti-theft sets where one lug bolt requires a special key. The rest (or on my old Golf: all of them) are standard 17, 19 or 21 mm heads.

It is maybe less DIY friendly because the wheel will not stay on the hub without at least one bolt inserted. Once you realize that’s the case, you put the wheel on and one of the bottom lug bolts maybe 2-3 turns in to prevent the wheel from falling off. I don’t see how they would be any less safe than studs and nuts. You tighten them to the appropriate torque spec and will never lose a wheel. The only other disadvantage I see is that you’re not gonna be able to easily fix badly damaged threads, but when and how would that happen?

I’m not a computer expert, nor an expert in espionage or intelligence services. What is pretty well known though is that the FSB has the means to reach out to young people in Europe to make them do illegal stuff (spying, sabotage…) on their behalf for maybe a couple hundred Dollars.
And the idea that European secret services cannot pinpoint the guys behind those activities because the Russians are using VPN servers is pretty cute.

Russian agencies reach out online and (at least promise to) pay some money. It’s as simple as that. They’re called low-level agents.

Of course they will favor European industry. The reason we’re taking on massive debt now to increase our defensive capabilities is that the US is looking increasingly less dependable. Why would German then spend all that money for military equipment over there?

My bank doesn’t.

Revolut effectively blocked me for using custom ROMs on my phones. Fuck them.

They flat-out refused to adapt. They said “We don’t fear competition, we build the most efficient ICE in the world” and thought they could keep selling their obsolete technology indefinitely.

The French legal system probably doesn’t stack individual sentences and go “I sentence you to a combined twenty-eight thousand years in prison” like they do in the US.

Honest question: How do you earn a living if you’re never in the same place for too long? I cannot see how those folks manage unless they’re so wealthy they can live off interest or they do remote work of some kind.

They obviously crossed the border, since the article mentions they came from France. Being able to travel to another country doesn’t mean you can do whatever you please, though.

36 Watts idle sounds like a lot for a 5800X3D. I’ll see what my 5700X3D does, never checked that. Not in software and not at the wall.

China is buying themselves control all over the place. Maybe they’re interested.
I, too, hate them with a passion.

And the 58€ ticket is valid nationwide. In theory, you could cover distances of 1000 km with it from North to South. It’s still a pretty good deal, but if people only use it occasionally and own a car anyway, the math is probably not in favour of it.
I’ve been to the US once and had the chance to road trip through Utah and Nevada, where pretty much no big cities exist or are far apart. Can confirm that I’ve never seen anything like that fantastic night sky in Europe.
