It is unclear how Trump would cut off trade with Spain, given that Spain is under the umbrella of the European Union. The EU negotiates trade deals on behalf of all 27 member countries.

“If the U.S. administration wishes to review the trade agreement, it must do so respecting the autonomy of private companies, international law, and bilateral agreements between the European Union and the United States,” a spokesperson from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s office said Tuesday.

This part is completely unhinged as well, but I guess it’s just what we expect now

Trump said despite Spain’s refusal “we could use their base if we want. We could just fly in and use it. Nobody’s going to tell us not to use it, but we don’t have to.”

I hope bullshit comments like that, finally convince the Spanish government to remove US bases from the country. It’s been a bit of a debate for a while, that might just tip the balance.

US - Spain war when lol? Maybe Spain should just preemptively blow up that base just to be sure it wont be used against them in the future.

Can someone explain to me how he would to that though? Even if we ignore the “Spain is part of the EU” argument, how does one offended man child cut off trade with a country? Are they a communist planned wconomy now? I mean surely the actual companies that do the trade would have something to say to that? My first thought here was yeah okay he’s introducing a 1000% tariff, except we know now he doesn’t have them powers to do that. So how?

Watch the rhetoric ramp up while trump buys Spanish stocks on their way down, only to TACO and profit
