Barak Ravid reported for Axios on Wednesday that, with a deal between the US and Iran appearing increasingly out of sight, “the Trump administration is closer to a major war in the Middle East than most Americans realize” and “It could begin very soon.”
Sources told the outlet that “A US military operation in Iran would likely be a massive, weeks-long campaign that would look more like full-fledged war than last month’s pinpoint operation in Venezuela.”
And why aren’t the Washington Generals putting up more of a fight against the Globe Trotters…
There will be no pushback from war, there’s never been a war Democrats weren’t frothing at the mouth to get into
War means more defense contracts, more defense contracts means more defense contracts in their districts. Which means more jobs, and that looks good at re-election time.
If the world were a game of Civ 6, the US would be full bore in to the domination victory condition. We never left the wartime economy and we don’t know how to.
We fucked.
besides they are getting lobbied by defense contractors.
The large media corps in the US are also complicit
Owned. It’s the owners that are complicit.
Epstein class has the wheel.
“Can’t talk now, AIPAC just cut me a check and I need to deposit it.” - Chuck
US == two imperialist parties + imperialist media + imperialist oligarchs
Why would the US do imperialism???
Also good question: why are all countries on the US not-nice list so concerned with attaining nukes and not being surrounded by US allies?
It must surely be because they are evil autocracies that hate democracy and human rights (unlike the US which loves both of those things, and would never ever infringe on human rights on an industrial scale, if a (democratically elected or not) government nationalized key resources)
(Sorry I‘m quite frustrated at the prospect of another useless war, and having to eat all the bullshit propaganda that is going to be produced in support of it, while at the same time seeing daily images of indescribable human misery.)
Remind me whos invading Ukraine, tankie.
Russia.
Well, those in power to check the executive branch want more distractions from the Trump Epstein file. As more of them are released, more of the public know how one sided the two party system really is. Trump gets the added excuse to restrict elections since “we’re at war”
trumps 1st attempt at iran via israel as a proxy only delayed the distraction, then venezuela, then minnesota. hes throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
weeks-long campaign
“Mission Accomplished!” in just a few weeks, bro! And, you know, about 10-20 years of wasting time and resources, gradually building hatred towards themselves via a non-stop guerilla war and war crimes, until the US once again quietly chickens out and goes home.
But I guess you’ve got to keep the industrial war machine happy, otherwise all the shareholders, and the economy in general, will be really upset.
war is often a distraction from internal economical turmiol+ scandals.
Never been a war that hasn’t been supported by all sides of the US Gov. Too much of the economy is based around war for that. That’s why they have to keep invading places.
Ha, where’s the real pushback on anything the obese child rapist has done?
I always get a kick out of “what are the dems doing to fight this?” type queries. They need to wait for the elections. It is still a democracy (so far) and they cannot legally do anything because in democracy sometimes you don’t get the best candidate, so you abide. Any other action is revolution (which is a proud american tradition).
What bullshit is this? Congress authorizes war. They can deny this action at any time.
Republicans hold a majority in both houses, so you are wrong and the poster you responded to is right.
Yet people here upvote you who are wrong, and downvote the poster who was actually right. 🤡
The Dems do NOT have the power to stop Trump. That is only if this is called a war. It can be called a million other things that Republicans say are not the same thing as war. They’ve done it before, and the Dems know they will do it again. This will be a series of targeted strikes that are not retaliated against by Iran in any way that actually hurts Congress-people. Vietnam War wasn’t even actually a war. Congress approved troop deployments one time, but that’s about it.
Additionally, Republicans have the majority in both houses. The only reason the shutdowns have occurred is because they needed more than a simple majority to get the budget passed. Declaration of War does not have any documented rules for whether it is simple majority or 2/3 vote or whatever. In the past, a simple majority was assumed since the votes were never close enough for it to matter.
I thought they were trying to simplify things. If the “Department of War” is involved then it’s war.
Dems have decided to just allow Trump to destroy himself.
Too bad he takes the country with him.most of the dems are DINOs, thats why they vote with the gop on many things. it always have been center right on most things and as a whole for the country. once in a while they throw the voters a bone just to wet thier appetite keeping them complacent and not to have a general uprising at the polls, add in a little propaganda from gop/russia helps.

“As Trump marches towards war” - If they would only put him in the front row.
“some of you are willing to die,but im willing to make that sacrifice”
Obviously this sucks. Watching all these nation states leveraging the Internet to sow chaos in the US I’ve often wondered - do these motherfuckers ever think about this shit going sideways? But no, it’s always “chaos = good for us”
Well, this is looking pretty sideways. As always the vast majority of the real, actual people on both sides don’t want this, don’t want war - don’t want this timeline at all.
bro. im only joking bro. only joking. whoops we have troops there well it would be irresponsible to not support them.
irresponsible to not support them.
I mean… the us track record for supporting their troops is pretty fucking bad. I think it would be better said “irresponsible to not support the MIC”
yeah but the track record for politicians saying they will support the troops is through the roof.
You are not incorrect
