The European Union is looking forward to Indian Cooperation and partnership in various sectors as stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
She declared that EU has agreed to advance towards signing a novel Security and Defence Partnership. The pact is said to bolster cooperation in matters such as maritime surveillance and cyber security.
Kaja expressed her enthusiasm regarding finalising the deal in the upcoming EU-India Summit in India, New Delhi next week. This show that europe is trying to align with Indian agenda.
At the same time, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen pointed towards near completion of FTA with India which will work as bridge to join two markets comprising of almost 2 Billion People and nearly a quarter of global GDP. She called this as “Mother of all Deals”.
This according to me shows India taking advantage of clashes between Europe and USA over Greenland issue. Europe now solely dosen’t want to depend on USA but wants to diversify into its replacements, with India as a befitting partner for them.

Maybe such agreements are easier to make between EU and India now that UK is no-longer a member of EU?
India still has a significant grudge against UK from colonial times. Despite EU and UK has abandoned the colonial tendencies, and now work for a world based on international law.
I get so sad every time I see India side with Russia and China claiming they are not colonial powers, and they respect the independence of India, despite India has a territorial dispute with China! But they claim siding with Russia is better because India needs independence.
Although Europe and UK absolutely fully respect and even to some degree help protect the independence of India. USA on the other hand has now become a complete wild card, impossible to know which side they choose, because the administration is so corrupt they choose decidedly and openly to act against US interests to line their own pockets.
