President Donald Trump just made it clear that he already has his eyes set on a new target following the US’s capture of the president of Venezuela. During a press conference on Saturday, he urged Colombian President Gustavo Petro to ‘watch his ass.’ The threat marks a dramatic escalation in tensions across Latin America, with Trump openly invoking the Monroe Doctrine to assert US dominance in the Western Hemisphere.
I literally said this as soon as I heard about Venezuela. He’s gonna go after Columbia, and then he’s going for the Panama Canal. If anyone is surprised by this, they haven’t been paying attention.
And Cuba. And Canada. And Greenland.
The western hemisphere is ours. Asia is China’s, Europe is Russia’s. No room for minor powers or old alliances in the end game. Just raw power.
This would assume absolutely no one resists any of these powers. Russia couldn’t take Europe if its existence depended on it.
Depends how many European politicans are willing to deliberately sabotage their own countries defence in exchange for personal wealth. And I know I’ve made several comments like this which could be interpreted as trying to sow disent but having seen what my own government gets up to I’m genuinely worried those assholes will sell us all into gulags for pennies a head.
The politicians can do whatever they want. Asymmetric warfare doesn’t care. I can tell you right now if the US invades Canada we will absolutely be able to easily sabotage the heavy crude export pipelines and upstream collection capabilities to cripple US refineries…
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Venezuelans doing the same to keep the oil out of American hands.
