    Why a loan though? Just give them the assets. Trying to put a leash on Ukraine shouldn’t take priority over defending them

      Cause thats how it works. There is currently an investigation into the laws and stuff by brussel, but it basically boils down to frozen assets are given to ukraine and the aggressor ( russia ) needs to pay back the interests iirc.

      Its a complex thing, but there are international laws and procedures around this.

      Because the EU tries to respect international laws and agreements to show that they can be dependable partners, unlike bullies like Putain or Trump.
