Also I know some folks who avoid politics like the fucking plague, not for any “enlightened” above politics sorta way. No they avoid politics because their usually mom was a fucking psycho and would shove politics into EVERYTHING. Air conditioner broke? Must’ve been the liberals. Grocery store stopped stocking miracle whip? Must’ve been Obama. Cheese grater handle snapped? It’s the immigrants.
Frankly speaking I suspect this is a larger cohort of folks than many realize. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if up to 10 percent of the population avoided politics because of trauma.

Lots of native Siberians and the Eastern Ukrainians, while the Holodomor was centralized to Ukraine it was not restricted to Ukraine itself. Meaning lots and lots of starving people that either fled or died. Also the Soviets were still doing purges throughout Siberia and the Far East because they were paranoid of a resurgent White or Black army which definitely didn’t help, also when I say purges I mean entire villages wiped out.

I was thinking of the more rural portions of Baja and less touristy portions of Belize, but then again my kin have always preferred the risks associated staying away from corpo crap. My grandfather used to train jump down to Mexicali and Tijuana for dinner for context of what I think of as a good time. Is it really a road trip if ya don’t nearly get shanked at a rural Nevadan gas station.
