Back in my days, elementary school had home economics for girls and wood shop for the boys, And welding/metal shop for boys in general high school. A few years later they remove all such shops.

One reason for the in movie break was to change the reels.
The focus issue mostly gone now with digital projectors, but I encountered one in a new complex where the AC cause condensation on the glass between the projector and the hall, and the staff need to wipe it often or else it’s messed up.

Climate controls, navigation, and other vehicle settings are now in the central touchscreen display. This makes the radio more of a command center, a 3rd party stereo would not be able to integrate with all the functions.
Removable panels were once a deterrent against theft, modern vehicle security systems and the overall integration of the stereo into the car’s electronics have made them less necessary.
