Not really, there are some good examples of underdogs winning (without cruise missiles for example).
edit: and we’re not talking strictly conventional. also that’s not what “no downsides” means

What happens if one country invades the other which doesn’t posses the tech necessary to kill the leader? eg cruise missiles, bunker busters, or modern aviation in general
“Leaders can have a little assassination, as a treat”
Not too often, just enough to remind them of their humanity.
If a country’s government starts a war, the most likely result would be that political leader getting merc’d by the government of the country they attacked.
Depends on who’s stronger. I don’t think it’s gonna lead to stability every time, unless the leaders realize it’s better (read: profitable) to be at peace.
It’s not exclusive to any one group. The main problem here is they’re engaging (allegedly) in good faith - using a lot of publicity from widely known people, posting updates, showing their heading etc. Meanwhile their opponent does not give a shit about acting in good faith.
Kinda like trying to talk sense into someone who’s only interested in beating you up and will never change their mind about it.
For some reason they either refuse to accept the fact that they won’t be treated fairly, so they keep trying to do stuff by the book (doesn’t work against liars). Or maybe they were just trying to get some publicity, and in turn inspire more attempts. Idk, I’m not them.
I am pretty sure they expected it to go south. But hey, at least they can say they tried. Perhaps that was the goal - to try.
Should be kept that way imo. The risk of telling him is not worth it
Are they? They stopped letting the americans tour their nuke facilities a while ago, basically nullifying that part of the agreement. What’s stopping them from doing the same again?
1100 kg of explosives apparently, but yeah wish it was more spectacular
This has to be a joke, they couldn’t even get the year correctly and it’s been drilled into them. Right???
edit: nvm, likely a puppet, checked the account
“Muslim” isn’t a race. Frankly all abrahamic religions are backwards, the difference is you can change your beliefs, unlike ethnicity/race.
The word you’re looking for is islamophobia btw. It seems english doesn’t have a blanket term for religion-based hate/bigotry.
They have late-stage Israel syndrome.
Don’t ignore the fact those guys were hit with a load of ballistic and cruise missiles recently and did alright. Not to mention drones and rocket arty on the regular.
I do agree the US are wildly overspending in the era of disposable unmanned-everything though, and this one incident isn’t gonna change their ways.
I just hope both sides have fun ☺️
Has anyone tried making a reactor that can be turned off? Seems like an easy upgrade to make them silent in the short term.
The problem with USVs is they’re relatively slow, if a ship is aware of their presence and is in a fighting state - it can get rid of a bunch of them. And it seems that navy helicopters are a decent counter, but overall it’s too early to tell if USVs are that good or was it the element of surprise.
there is nothing that anybody can do about the most advanced missiles being made today apart from hoping that they miss
You can help them miss. If they’re using GPS navigation, jamming works. It then reverts to inertial navigation though, so the longer you jam - the bigger the error.
Or you could try shooting it down, I doubt they can even dodge a head-on intercept without losing a load of energy.
edit: btw the problem you’re describing is why cbg is a thing
What are they gonna do, send a strongly worded letter to their lemmy instance?
I thought you were talking about Ukraine’s head of UAV forces for a second lol
