Building muscles is more effective than cardio to burn fat. The more you have, the more calories you burn passively just by having them. Kind of like compounding interest. Cardio is healthy and good, but will ‘only’ burn fat during and right after the workout.
Yes, I think women face more inquality than men. And queer people face even more discrimination than women. But also cis-men that don’t fit well into the traditional gender roles, can face discrimation. I do not object the ideology behind femism. I just don’t like the term.
I’m not OP, but many people associate feminism with strengthening women specifically. If you look up the definition it actually does focus gender equality, no matter what gender you have. So from my perspective the term isn’t really intuitive.
Another thing I don’t like about the definition (at least the one on Wikipedia) is…
Feminism holds the position that modern societies are patriarchal—they prioritize the male point of view—and that women are treated unjustly in these societies.
While I sure get what they mean, I personally don’t like to classify one’s point of view as ‘male’. I agree that there are far more toxic men that seek more and more power. But i don’t dislike such people because they are men. I’d dislike their behavior just as much if they were women, non-binaries or any other gender. Classifying a character trait male IMHO is similar to calling a skirt or dress ‘women clothes’.
So yes, to me personally, anti-sexism / anti-discrimination or even better pro-equality are more appealing.
Some time ago I tried InvoiceNinja as an invoicing and expense management tool and kind of liked it. It also has some CRM functionalities which I never used myself but maybe it could be a fit for you. It’s available as paid SaaS or free self-hosted.
Lemmy loves artists who have their income threatened by AI because AI can make what they make at a substantially lower cost with an acceptable quality in a fraction of the time.
AI depends on being trained on the artistic works of others, essentially intellectual and artistic property theft, so that you can make an image of a fat anime JD Vance. Calling it plagiarism is a bit far, but it edges so hard that it leaks onto the balls and could cum with a soft breeze.
While I mostly agree with all your arguments, I think the ‘intellectual property’ part - from my perspective - is a bit ambivalent on Lemmy. When someone uses an AI that is trained on pirated art to create a meme, that’s seen as a sin. Meanwhile, using regular artists’ or photographers’ work in memes without paying the author is really common. More or less every news article comes with a link to Archive.is to bypass paywalls and there are also special communities subject to (digital) piracy which are far more polular than AI content.
While I get why people have an anti-AI-sentiment, I don’t get at all why people downvote this thread. If someone is asking a legitimate question in an open and polite way, why downvote the question?
You should specify what kind of trip you are looking for. If you like mountains I’d prefer Spain (Picos de Europa, Pyrenees) and France (Alps, Pyrenees) over Portugal.
Mostly successful. But also for rare occasions it’s useful.
I like spicy food and use so much pepper and chili that also my girlfriend got used to it. But when I cook for other folks I don’t know yet it’s sometimes hard to correctly estimate the appropriate amount to add. And if it tends to be too hot for someone, it’d be great to have an anti-spice to offer. Of course you can also add something creamy but that also changes the look, texture and taste.
It’s not free but if you charge your account with 10€ you get 100 days of flatrate for more or less all international landlines. After these 100 days or calls on mobile you pay 1-3 cents per minute.
FreeVoipDeal is super cheap, allows you to use an already existing own number and can be used with any client that supports the SIP protocol.
In a way that it allows me to salvage any burnt bread by simply unroasting it? Or a time machine that will take me back to the dinosaurs but I’ll arrive dead and crispy?
I never did, but I also don’t know any other Lemmy user in person, so I guess it’s pretty pointless to share my profile.
From my perspective Lemmy by far isn’t as user-centric as Mastodon. In Mastodon you mainly follow people whereas in Lemmy you subscribe to communities.
Congratulations and good luck with your publication!
If you want to avoid conflicts maybe drop a short message to one of the mods upfront but otherwise I wouldn’t worry too much! :)
Anyone knows how that fingerprinting might have worked here? Unless you used a very specific combination of browser extensions, I can’t get my head around how it could track you… Or do they maybe use external services like Google Analytics to identify users? But even that would require that you logged in somewhere else before with that same browser.
Every fourth Tesla fails the first EU-inspection. The average for all cars is 3%, so it’s exceptionally bad.
I also wouldn’t buy a car from that freak for various reasons but that high failure rate at the first inspection can be at least partly explained. Tesla - unlike most manufacturers - doesn’t do regular inspections on their own. Most cars are checked (and repaired!) by the dealership before they get officially checked. Therefore, the 25% aren’t completely comparable to the 3%.
