My Jellyfin tunnels via traefik and cloudflared. However, the normal Android app somehow can’t login, but streamyfin works like a charm. I always had issues with plex, because it relied on their own service. But jellyfin now simply works, pretty nifty

Plex is easier to run on older NAS systems, but yeah - that was me :) but i switched to jellyfin, finally

This. Be on the lookout for company grade PCs, like from Dell, Lenovo or Fujitsu, they come in small form factors, offer decent upgradability and are low/on power consumption and noise (most of the time)

I have a old optiplex 7010 with i7 and 8gig RAM. About 70€ on eBay. I upgraded it with a nvme SSD to bolt from (great tutorial here) and salvaged an old SATA HDD from an external case.

Currently runs 11+ container in proxmox without issues. Way beefier than a raspberry pi.

I also have room for 3 more hdds to put in a mergerfs system and 2 additional pcie slots für things like a faster LAN card or an additional SATA controller

It puts some grants for them into question, so less money for the faschs.

I have some notes on that. 3 of the 4 are EU citizens, that makes deportations highly complicated. I also can’t find another source, and the intercept has a history of pushing some shady things. Something feels off.

Innovation takes time & money. So companies only spend it if they are forced, either through competition or regulation. VW, BMW, Mercedes did not think they had any competition. And thanks to the auto lobby and car friendly politicians, there was no pressure from regulators.

So, all that money, that could have gone to research went into the pockets of shareholders, like the klatten family for BMW, Qatar Holding or Blackrock for VW.

But I am sure they will find a way to saddle the tax payer with the losses, as is tradition.
