I actually think that’s a universal truth. One’s own accent is boring or even feels “non-existent” (it exists) but it may be very attractive to someone else with a different one.

Besides the other comment about Yu-gi-oh, there’s even This from the major card game franchise.
Me.
A lot has and continues to go wrong, but mostly self-repairing. At some point some failure will be unrecoverable, but hopefully that’s a long time in the future.
An even better answer might be my cats. The small number of repairs that need professional assistance are cheaper than the same issues would be for myself. However I don’t expect them to last as long, unfortunately. Even though I got them very nearly brand new a few years ago.
You forgot to mention that the book is nonfiction, this really happened.
lemmy.ca isn’t the entire Lemmy. (It’s not the plurality either)
Or the tails should be, either way.

Sound like…
…They’re Audi.
Bud managed to fix it instantly.
There are two unexplained phenomena that I currently believe in (but either could change at any time - by being explained or by being shown not to exist.)
They are dark matter and dark energy.
But ghosts and stuff? Certainly not.

My dad’s first stroke. I was somewhere around 16 years old.
“Insurance battles lasted for years, the central point being the definition of the accident, i.e., whether it was a “flood” or a “leak”. Leaks were covered by insurance, while floods were not. Eventually it was classified as a leak, which is why many residents still call it the “Great Chicago Leak”.”
For anyone else lost, apparently there’s a song named “They Call the Wind Maria”.
Experiencing mental distress.
How? Did you have ancestry somewhere that let you immigrate back? Family still there? Something else?
I’d love to find a way out for my family, but don’t know of any options.

It stands for Large Language Model, and that’s what ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, etc are. They are all LLMs. They are also called ‘AI’ (Artificial Intelligence) but they are not at all intelligent, they just match patterns and produce one word at a time like a very complex autocomplete in a phone keyboard.
They very often get facts wrong, but they are designed to sound confident and knowledgeable even when completely incorrect, which is a problem because humans tend to assume honesty.

Arachnophobia
It doesn’t actually still haunt me (I’m the family spider hunter) but I did get nightmares for a while from that one.
Is that a particular Andrew that I don’t recognize?
And some people think memes started on the Internet.

Absolutely. Anyone who has done any programming should recognize that changing what’s in the quote is corrupting the data.
If I’m quoting a question though, then it makes sense to include the question mark in the quote.
I laughed when Joe asked "That's the hill you chose?".
That’s the one the editor forced to be clearer‽
