Unions are illegal in a Communist state? That’s hilariously ironic and sad.

It’s really hard to see your point when the American judicial branch is so obviously beholden to party politics and special interests. Judges can be voted on a lifetime appointment by a simple majority of 51 senators, who are likely to represent less than half the voting population of the country. I really think it’s time for clunkier and more archaic forms of democracy to make way for a more direct and agile way to run the government. At the rate we’re going, generations-long problems like climate change will be addressed when it’s too late.
There’s a guy at work who wears a MAGA hat all the time. I often think about telling him I want nothing to do with him liking a fucking Nazi but have to be civil and polite because he also acts the same way. It fucking sucks I can’t tell him what I really think because we’re in a professional setting and it would be stupid to start something up.
I prefer the term managed democracy.
Just look at the US Supreme Court’s recent rulings and tell me that’s a healthy judicial system. I’d rather have the ability to vote for a judge, but more importantly, we need to have a system in place that can more easily impeach them should their actions not reflect the will of the people.
Makes sense, they’re in a cave.
I’m probably getting downvoted here, but I agree with your statement of the US having had a problematic history of usurping power from democratically elected governments in Central and South America. You can at least see that some of the countries that support Venezuela’s election results are run by dictators. Hell, Cuba and North Korea wouldn’t be out of place on that list too. Considering that Maduro lost a lot of popularity after Chavez’s death, partly due to the welfare system taking a huge hit when oil prices fell and partly due to him showing opulence in times of hunger.
All of these things may not be damning, but it puts the man in a bad light and makes me wonder if he actually did cheat the system in a way that our own domestic wannabe dictator tried doing just 4 years ago.
That sounds an awful lot like modifying an ESP32 script I’ve been trying to follow from a YouTube tutorial published a while back. Research hasn’t uncovered anything for me to troubleshoot the issue so it’s a really shit experience.
You should reply with “you look like Jackie Chan!”
