It is heart breaking to see Germany begin to give in to fascism again. What happened to “never again!” ???

Too true. I was just banned on Reddit for liking too many pro-Luigi posts
That is weird to me because Jesus repeatedly condemned the rich. He even violently kicked them out of temples by whipping them and flipping tables. Jesus even said the wealthy will never enter into heaven. Jesus was essentially a proto-communist
I think religion is capable of doing great things, but yeah, more often than not it seems to be a gateway to fascism and other extreme right dictatorships.
The red text of Jesus was based. It taught me that God weeps for the sparrows so we also should value and protect nature. Jesus washing the disgusting feet of people who walked around all day in sandals without socks taught me that truly great leaders use their position to serve the weak and vulnerable. Jesus warning that it was impossible for the wealthy to enter heaven and ordering us to take care of the poor just like we would take care of him if he needed it taught me empathy and helped me become a communist.
So yeah, Christian communism is based, but Christianity under capitalism becomes a tool of fascism.
A unified community
That’s just it, we’ve lost all touch on what it means to be a community. Strangers that we happen to be around or live around isn’t a community. To have a community, you need to have shared roots and bonds: grew up together, work together, hold festivals together, have shared spaces that you work together to improve, etc.
Americans also love to victim blame. This poor woman was violently abducted by people in masks and the first response of most Americans will be to ask “what did she do to deserve it?”
Chinese people were afraid to discuss certain topics in public, which was not the case in the USA at that time,
Try talking about unionizing at work and see how people react. Americans are terrified of discussing critical issues in places where it matters the most.
Companies having the ability to destroy your life for having the wrong opinion is just as bad as a state doing it.
Our inner child will refuse to believe this, but history has shown us that fascists cannot be stopped peacefully.
Concealed carry might be our only real defense in the future
Decide what service and/or goods you want to sell, start a business, calculate costs, sell your products, make a profit or hopefully at least break even.
You described markets, not capitalism. You can have markets without capitalism such as worker co-ops or publicly owned companies. Both of which are examples of market socialism
Lord Elon is whatever he wants to be. Peasants would do well to learn their place and to address his majesty with the respect he deserves.

If we turned SpaceX into a worker’s co-op then I would also be fine with it, but I don’t think replacing Elon with another billionaire would help anything. I truly believe nearly every single billionaire on earth is morally bankrupt and far too detached from reality. The best case scenario for the continuation of billionaires is that live like evil dragons hoarding all their wealth while the planet burns… But far too often, billionaires use their wealth to erode democracy and to ratchet the world towards fascism.
If we truly want to save our world then billionaires need to be abolished, capitalism needs to be converted into market socialism, and we need to make education and improving democracy our #1 priorities so that we can actually build functioning science driven governments that are willing to fight for data proven policies
I would like to add that having free and fair elections isn’t enough to be a democracy. A democracy, by definition, is simple majority rule in which the government represents the will and interests of the people. Paid propaganda, paid lobbying, SuperPACs, the existence of a donor class, etc all betray the ideals of what democracy represents. Any government that ceases to represent the interests and will of the people ceases to be a democracy, regardless of how fair and free their elections may seem.
Neolibs sell us out to big oil just as much as neocons do. The root problem is capitalism. You cannot fight against climate change without fighting against capitalism
Maybe, just maybe, the Americans who support Palestinians aren’t the same Americans who are support our genocidal military industrial complex.
70% of Americans want an immediate ceasefire. 75% Americans are opposed to any increases in military spending (56% want a decrease: https://afsc.org/news/most-us-adults-support-pentagon-spending-cuts). So please understand that the US government is a plutocracy that doesn’t represent the will of the American people anymore than Putin represents the majority of Russians.
Israel is also bribing our politicians. Our two-party political system is so corrupt it makes me sick to my stomach even thinking about it.
That is a bit over my head (my degree is in CompSci), but the research samples only had a 3C degree margin for error (77 to 83C) so I am assuming they had a good reason for using the setup that they had. Or maybe they were forced to accept that setup due to financial limitations.
Either way, privatization was 100% at fault here. The university wanted to cut costs (avoid paying benefits) so they outsourced the cleaning job to a private company who hired the cheapest guy they could. The outsourced company didn’t understand or respect their research and the guy they hired obviously didn’t either.
Oh hey, my alma mater. Seems kinda weird anything cryogenic could be “unplugged,” since there’s a fuckoff-massive tank for liquid nitrogen outside the Low building… the tallest building on campus.
The article explains it. The freezer was wired through a disconnect box that was locked to prevent anyone from turning it off, but the janitor found the circuit panel and turned off the circuit breaker.

That isn’t bad advice. If you remove the Tesla emblems from it then that also makes it clear that you don’t identify with Musk’s neo-nazi views.
Owned is a great word for this. Nearly all our news outlets are owned by billionaires which leaves journalists next to zero ownership over what they are allowed to write and how they are allowed to frame things.
