some of each i suspect
it feels unhelpful, but at this point that’s all i have left. basically saying “now do you know who to listen to?”
and here again i find myself unsure of what to say in the face of something i’ve been warning against for years
the reasoning would have been sound with an enemy other than russia and a timeframe of a month or so. 3 fucking years was an act of cruelty that acted as a preview for the indifference to the horrors in Gaza
The balance between spending time with your elderly to keep them from going bad and going full non contact with them because they’re dragging you down is crazy making
it’s not perfect, but i’ve just been gathering interesting links into my org roam notebook
yup. if you are on the brink of death, and hamas can maybe keep you alive a few more hours, suddenly your moral compunctions with their methods wash away. and so we’re clear, hamas sucks. but when faced with death you take what you can get, and bibi is forcing hands
from the perspective of what’s to be done about it, it’s distinction without difference. if MS is tethered to act in accordance to our fascist dictatorship, and the point of the ICC is to do something about all these fascist dictatorships doing fascism all over the place, then the ICC must divest itself of Microsoft. it won’t be an instantaneous process, but the ICC must immediately begin the process of evaluating and selecting products from outside the united states.
the pogroms are already happening. it’s all around us
antisemite: jews can’t live in this society. they need to go away
zionist: jews can’t live in this society. they need to go away
may your soups always be tasty and your songs always be sung
Their propaganda methods are also meant to make everyone feel alone. For the conservatives, it makes them feel powerful, like this is all working, like they’re the self reliant culture warriors they always dreamed of being. For the empathetic, it makes us feel like we don’t have enough power to band together and resist them. That’s why right now songs and soup are everything. They make you feel like you’re connected to whoever taught you the song, sings the song with you, or that you teach the song to. The soup fills your belly and gives you the energy to power forward, and the soup you make is also one of the few true choices you have in desperate times. You’re surrounded by the illusion of choice, but soup, soup is something we the underclasses own. You can put anything in your soup as long as you like the resulting soup, and when you feed it to someone else they receive the results of your choices, and they gain an understanding of you.
Conservatives fear empathy, and they’ve announced it in broad daylight. They fear it because its what erodes their movement. It’s what gives us the power to act against them. I don’t know where you’re located @Grumpyleb@lemmus.org, but I advise that everyone on earth is more connected to the resistance and danger of fascism even if they think they’re away from it. Learn some songs, make some soup. These are the most powerful pieces of propaganda in the face of the horrors of our lived reality. A family in Kyiv taught me in 2012 while they were hosting my boss that a war is fought with bullets and bombs, but it’s won with boycotts and boots. For 13 years I’ve carried this wisdom with me and now I’m sharing it with you and anyone else who finds this comment
and here in the states it’s a matter of time before they start shipping anyone with pale skin, curly hair, and large noses to israel because the evangelicals don’t want a safe place for the jews, they want the jews in their midst gone
for sure. argentina did a lot to shield a lot of people and 23 is simply not that many nazis to kill
and SAS sent Christopher Lee, yes, THAT Christopher Lee, down there to make sure the very worst of them didn’t escape justice
we took deep personal offense to France seeing us for who we really are
that’s his ultimate ideological goal. the question isn’t “would” it’s “under what conditions”
yeah nah. i’m advocating for stripping the catholic church of its power since this is the best it can do. like. we’re honestly on the same page that this guy sucks but your takeaway about what i’m saying should be done is off the mark of what i’m actually saying
progressive for a pope. as a cardinal he did not actively rape kids, just passively tolerated that his peers were doing it. i’m sorry but the bar is in hell. the new pope sucks because the pope must suck to maintain the hegemonic order of the world’s most powerful organized religion. if a potential pope was actually a good person as we conceptualize one, they wouldn’t have ever involved themselves in the power squabble of the clergical hierarchy.
our estimation is this pope is pretty good in the context of being a pope. he is still, however, a pope. it’s like how in america our options in november were “passively tolerates atrocity” or “enacts atrocity”
a movie about spider web is gonna be huge someday
