I got it mixed up since I dont exactly follow European politics I just know what I hear on the news. It was these guys in Austria who were founded by former SS. I knew there was some far right party in modern Europe that was but I remembered wrong. AfD is much more recent but regardless they’re still far worse than most American Republicans as is the fact that there is any active political party in Europe that was founded by literal Nazis.

I am a brown person and I’ve gotten a lot more dirty looks and subtle passive-aggressive comments as a tourist in Europe travelling with my white American girlfriend than at home in the US, even in the southern states.

As for Trump, just remember that Europeans have elected the likes of Boris Johnson and Priti Patel, Marine Le Pen made it to the final round of the French elections from what I’ve heard, AfD is on the rise in Germany, Benito Mussolini’s granddaughter who very much thinks just like him is in the Italian parliament, and Hungary keeps electing Viktor Orban.

Europeans are not self aware at all they just arrogantly think they are. For example they pretend their countries are any less racist than America when they aren’t, they just pretend it isn’t a problem and smear anyone who cares to claim otherwise. We’re not. The PRC is all bark and no bite. Their economy would topple over in the wind if they had to fight any serious war. Also the ROC (which controls Taiwan) has essentially made unofficial backchannel deals with the US for protection. There’s no way the PRC risks war with the US. Not only would they lose horribly, as a country that is run like a business, it would also lose its biggest customer.

You are not required to obey an unlawful order and in most militaries you are required not to. If you get court martialed it shouldn’t be a problem since you were in the right and not the officer issuing the unlawful order.

Or you know actual trained soldiers tend to fight more effectively than random cartel thugs.

The People’s Republic of China which governs the mainland claims Taiwan but the Republic of China which currently only governs Taiwan technically also claims all of the mainland too. The two Chinas are a result of the Chinese Civil War which ended with the communists taking over most of China and the nationalist government effectively being exiled to the island of Taiwan and continuing there.

So if free countries have to pick one or the other to recognize why not choose the ROC which is a free democracy instead of the PRC which is a de facto dictatorship? At the same time it would force the rest of the world to sever its addiction to cheap PRC made goods using what amounts to slave labor meanwhile the ROC makes high quality goods and has a robust STEM workforce that leads the world in industries like computer hardware.
