Ok, just in case there’s a chance for you to be good faith. The above comment was a reply to a post about there being a lot of pro china and pro Russia propaganda being on Lemmy. It implied that the only way you can be against china and/or Russia is if you’ve fallen for western propaganda. This is a very clear fallacy, as being critical of china and/or Russia does not imply that you aren’t also critical of the west. There’s no conspiracy going on where everyone agreed to comment the same stuff, but if the same fallacy gets repeated over and over, multiple people will independently see it for what it is and call it out.
Do you folks not know that two things can be bad at the same time
For me it’s that when I drink 3L of water over the course of 16h, the dehydration after 8 hours of not drinking is such a stark difference that it’s uncomfortable.
I think I was being unclear! I was trying to agree with you that banning ads with thin people is shitty, because when I was growing up, that was a huge thing, with ‘real men like curves’ and generally all the media being all about how gross it is to be skinny. And so I felt compelled to hide my underweight body. ‘protruding collar bones’ like in the article is pretty much a direct quote from quite a few of my bullies. It’s important to fight fat phobia, but this really ain’t it.
I used to be similar to your ex, and stuff like in this post is why I wore a t-shirt to the pool until I was like 20. Not saying I had it as bad as a fat person, but body shaming the other end of the spectrum ain’t it either.
The psychologist who did like a shortened test on me actually recommended against going further and also getting diagnosed by a psychiatrist if I don’t want any official support. Just not worth a lifetime of discrimination within the medical system. I’m noticing it happening with my ADHD diagnosis. That one’s worth the discrimination though, since the treatment is a life saver (potentially literally).
Not super believable tbh. Cans aren’t some mysterious indestructible material.
Someone once genuinely said my eyes were a beautiful interplay of melanin, lipochrome, and Rayleigh scattering (or something to that effect). Aka my eyes are green. Physicists man.
If it makes you feel any better, we have a joke in Austria that we might as well not have an army, because we border 1) NATO, 2) Switzerland, and if either of those become a threat, we might as well capitulate immediately.
Why would this be the tipping point after everything else they’ve done? They’ve also done this exact thing many times across the globe. (Wanted to post an example, but there’s a LOT coming up when you google ‘nestle drought’, so I didn’t want to post just a small part)
Pretty sure you have to pay if you back out as well, so that’s not an incentive to kill you either.
You can get help setting everything up, but you have to be the one to push the button, pick up the lethal medicine, etc
