      Do schools still have shop classes? Back in my days, elementary school had home economics for girls and wood shop for the boys, And welding/metal shop for boys in general high school. A few years later they remove all such shops.

        Those kinds of classes do seem to be going away. I did technical drawing and wood shop before high school. I didn’t take any more, but I know some went on to foundry, automotive, and welding.
