I’m sure there’s loads of ignorant people who still has no idea. But the early adopters were (according to my anecdotal evidence) Musk fans who did the mental gymnastics of “everything good with Tesla/SpaceX/PayPal/… was Musks ideas and works, and any bad things are the work of his underlings”.
