Hungarian security operatives administered a “forced injection” to one of the Ukrainians detained earlier this month during a dramatic raid on bank vehicles carrying gold bars and tens of millions of dollars and euros in cash, sources have told the Guardian.
Hungary’s TEK anti-terrorism police detained seven Ukrainians from the state savings bank, Oschadbank, on 5 March. They were accompanying a convoy of two armoured cars from Vienna to Ukraine, as it transited Hungary in what Kyiv claims was a regular transfer of state funds. Hungarian officials have claimed it was money for the “Ukrainian war mafia”, without giving details.
The men were held for more than 24 hours, much of which they spent blindfolded and in handcuffs, before they were deported to Ukraine. During that time, one of the men – a former employee of Ukraine’s SBU security service – was given the forced injection, security sources in Kyiv said.
The sources added that they believed the injection contained a relaxant that was meant to predispose subjects towards becoming talkative during interrogations. However, the drug reportedly led the man, who is diabetic, to have a hypertensive crisis and lose consciousness. He was eventually taken to hospital.
Hungary should be expelled from the EU for this behaviour and be hit with sanctions.
It would save everyone a lot of time and money.
Let’s wait a bit with this. There is a small chance Orban is kicked out of office. There are parliament elections on April 12 and it does not look good for the fat pig.
There is also a not so small chance that he will lose the election but stay in office.
That does seem to be increasingly the fashion among a certain kind of person.
Is it realistic to expect the elections will be fair? Would Moscow allow him to lose?
Moscow sent a social media specialist team (whatever that means) to help with the propaganda machine. I don’t know how fair the elections will be, but I guess we can expect Orban will make it as unfair as he can

Honestly, that should have happened ages ago.
There would be Champagne corks flying high in Moscow.
How so? Orban is Putins inside man at the top level of the EU.
Because it would weaken EU and separate one of the members.
How so?
One of the main reasons the EU is perceived as weak is the required unanimity on important topics. This is often made impossible or at least very costly by the likes of Orbán who effectively holds the other 95% of the EU hostage. Throwing him out would send a clear signal that one cannot work against the block with no consequences.
The EU has famously lost a member before and survived. On the contrary now look where the UK is heading. Back to the fold it seems. Just this time around there will be far less if any privileges.
