Millions of Canadians have skipped trips to the US since President Donald Trump took office last year. Many say they don’t feel welcome as tensions grow over political rhetoric and tariffs, and they’re going overseas or visiting Mexico instead.

In 2024, more than 20 million Canadians visited the US, according to the U.S. Travel Association — more than any other nationality.

But final figures posted on Friday by the US National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO), show a 21% drop in Canadian arrivals last year compared with 2024 — representing about 4.2 million fewer Canadian visitors.

      Some people just don’t care. The gas prices will probably decrease travel more than Canadian’s principles.

        I bet it’s not surprising that the hubs for the world’s two worst airlines are in conservative Canadian provinces.

      I wonder if part of it is people who had plans made already didn’t change them. Next year will give us a better idea. I do know some people who traveled to the US to visit friends, and I get it, but even they are saying they’re done and their friends can come here instead.
