A suspected Iranian drone attack hit the CIA’s station at the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia on Monday, in what would amount to a symbolic victory for the Islamic republic as it lashes out at U.S. targets and personnel across the Middle East, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The U.S. and Saudi governments confirmed that two drones hit the U.S. Embassy complex in Riyadh but did not disclose that America’s spy hub was hit in the attack.
Blows my mind that people cheer on Iran. Is it just a simple, anti trump, anti Israel reaction?
“Is it that Iran is fighting the most evil forces in the world??”
yes
People aren’t cheering on Iran exactly. It’s more like, we are doing some seriously fucked up stuff, and Israel is doing some fucked up stuff with U.S. support. People don’t like it, especially when we seem to have gone to war for legit no reason.
Instead of bombing other countries, it’d be nice if we focused on things at home, like proper Healthcare, affordable groceries.
What we got instead is a government trying to simultaneously distract from issues at home, and instigate what I’m guessing is a terrorist attack at home so they can declare an emergency and try to cancel the election.
So, yeah, right now, a lot of people are pretty understanding of Iran fighting back.
Coming soon to American soil, I wager. I wonder if they’ll refer to this as a war when that happens?
The administration refers to it as a war now, or at least they did, they just won’t officially label it a war
Mar-a-lago sure feels like a sitting duck next to the open ocean.
That would be unwise because it would make Trump push the red button. But in the neighbouring countries 👍. About time the US is fucked out of that region. 🤞It will be an example for South America as well.
No, he won’t.
He’ll exploit it to consolidate more power within the office of the President, just like Bush did after 9/11. An attack on US soil, historically, has prompted the American people to line up behind the American president for even the most horrific shit, like torture, state-sponsored kidnapping, mass surveillance without a warrant, black sites in other countries, etc. etc. etc.
Donald will love it when we get attacked, because not only will he be able to become a true dictator, but the people will be begging him to do it. (Not me, at least, but the majority will.)

Not this time. 9/11 was different, and while the president wasn’t fully trusted after his coup, he wasn’t considered to be a Traitor and Pedophile, and more. People were willing to give the Republicans the benefit of the doubt. But then we found out they lied about EVERYTHING, and were wildly incompetent on top of it.
America is far more fractured now than it was then. If Iran commits a major terrorist attack on American soil, most Americans will blame Trump for inviting it.
I don’t think it will work out that way, but I think we’ll find out, unfortunately.
Thumbs up all around.
WP repeated suggestion that KSA thought this was bestest war ever prior to attack. Iran does not believe this, afaiu, and it is intriguing considering Gulf state threats of withdrawing investments in US, and mass starvation that threatens them as a result of Straits of Hormuz closure.
