The Bible is OBSESSED with foreskin collection.

    That makes sense tho…

Like Old Testament was for the one group in the area who removed those as children. No adult spy would do that for cover, and it would take substantial time to heal to pass

So it wasn’t “we love foreskins, gimmie them foreskins” as much as “give me the one thing that proved you killed an adult man who wasn’t part of us”.

It was genocide, if you weren’t part of ‘the tribe’ you were an enemy and should be killed.

So yeah, totally evil, but logical.

Just So stories about the logical reason for genital mutilation don’t hold water. Even in the Bible, there are accounts of how the Israelites could tell friend from foe: they did it by accent (search on “shibboleth” for more details), not by examining the guy’s schwantz. Much easier from a safe distance.

Also, many other tribal societies also practiced circumcision and other forms of genital mutilation, some living adjacent to each other. And snipping is also practiced in Islam, which encompasses multiple nationalities.

“Shibboleth” was used in a battle between the Gileadites and the Ephramites. Both Israelite, both circumcised.

And Islam didn’t exist in the old testament time; they are also an Abrahamic religion.
