Dammit, Lupin.
Nothing else hits like a good old-fashioned European museum jewelry heist.
A shaky video of someones shaking phone video. Are we just giving up on trying to be professional?
Someone should invent a way to get a video file off of a phone without cracking it open and letting the Internet leak out.
Or maybe like a jig do that the phone and the camera recording it are both kept steady and properly cropped
The producer tried to hold the phone to the photocopier but the results were poor. The producer was negotiating puchasing the footage, but this accidental footage snagged was much cheaper.
You might not be far off because the embedded video just says “this video is private” negating the entire purpose of the article.
Now let’s make another film. This one will be both a true crime and a heist film. Inevitable millions.
Bankrolled by the thieves as well.

And someone was just standing there, recording it on their phone? Something not adding up.
Ah, but they were wearing a bright yellow vest! Be honest - would you think twice if you saw someone wearing a safety yellow vest and carrying a drill? Apparently there was construction going on nearby as well, so the basket lift didn’t really stand out.
True, but that still begs the question, why were they filming that person if they didn’t think something was going on? Not that I’d expect a bystander to throw themselves upon a thief, but interesting they still got away after being noticed and filmed during.
Maybe the person wasn’t sure but suspected something so better catch it on camera just in case. These thieves were fast so don’t expect random people to react as you would with some time to think.
Yup that could be. I’m not expecting anything of them.
They were in and out in 4 minutes. What do you find odd about it? I would expect people to have their phones out recording everything when visiting a place like this that many might only see once in a lifetime.
I read 7 minutes, but nonetheless, I just found that recording odd. If you were a tourist there with your phone, you’d be recording the guy you assume to be doing maintenance on a case? I’m not suggesting some plot or conspiracy theory or batshit stuff like that. They stole the stuff and got away with it. I just found that video odd. Regardless, we weren’t there and can’t know all the ins and outs.
lol
Cliffnotes – A few people involved, seemingly professional thieves, obtained ~2 partial sets of jewelry, no leads yet.
